5 min sketch, trying to turn this into a regular thing.

This doesn't look like much but I assure you it's big for me.

I'm learning fluid grids for web development which allows for the same website to be seen seamlessly on different devices. It's a little weird, I think is the word, but once you get the hang of it, it makes sense.

The point of this blog post though is sub-conscience computing. Yesterday, I was pulling my hair out trying to wrangle this grid getting nowhere. My wife was coming home from work so time was running out. I read a few articles on the subject, then I put it down.

That is a key point: PUT IT DOWN. Don't think about it (consciously) and do something else.

In the morning I woke up and quickly worked out a mockup (see above) in about 5 minutes solving about 3 separate issues I was having. Sometimes, you may stop chewing on a problem but your brain doesn't. I don't know what this is officially called but it is a very powerful tool.

Do you use this technique? Do you have any amazing stories of sub-conscience mulling? Tell us about it in the comments below.

Speed sketch : 15 min : no ref

I really should be doing this daily. I know some studios do this, it's really good to get you going in the morning and loosen you up. It's also great for feeling you accomplished something when your current project feels like it's dragging along. Being as I have to write an important well thought out paragraph, it's dragging worse than a dead elephant.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.

/throws confetti.

I started this blog in order to share more of my creative process, I will be posting many WIPS and as always I welcome criticism, for without it, I wouldn't be where I am today. It's also a medium that forces me to write, something I'm known for not exceling at.

Anyway, thank you for following.
