This doesn't look like much but I assure you it's big for me.
I'm learning fluid grids for web development which allows for the same website to be seen seamlessly on different devices. It's a little weird, I think is the word, but once you get the hang of it, it makes sense.
The point of this blog post though is sub-conscience computing. Yesterday, I was pulling my hair out trying to wrangle this grid getting nowhere. My wife was coming home from work so time was running out. I read a few articles on the subject, then I put it down.
That is a key point: PUT IT DOWN. Don't think about it (consciously) and do something else.
In the morning I woke up and quickly worked out a mockup (see above) in about 5 minutes solving about 3 separate issues I was having. Sometimes, you may stop chewing on a problem but your brain doesn't. I don't know what this is officially called but it is a very powerful tool.
